Regional Finance Intern

The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Regional Finance Intern to support the financial oversight of our Regional Commissions on the Status of Women (CSWs). This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization’s mission to advance women toward full equality in all areas of life and to promote rights and opportunities for all women.

MCSW exists to provide a permanent, effective voice for women across Massachusetts, standing for fundamental freedoms, basic human rights, and the full enjoyment of life for all women throughout their lives. As a Regional Finance Intern, you will play a vital role in ensuring the equitable and effective management of financial resources to further these goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in tracking financial spending for Regional CSWs to ensure alignment with budgets and goals.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of templates to streamline the financial reporting process and promote consistency.
  • Process inquiries related to financial operations and provide prompt and professional support to MCSW’s Administration & Finance Director.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including maintaining records, organizing financial data, and supporting meetings as needed.
  • Review and analyze financial data submitted by Regional CSWs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify and address gaps in financial reporting processes.
  • Support preparing reports and presentations related to financial performance and policy updates.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a program in accounting, finance, public administration, business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to women’s empowerment, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software tools; familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
